I really think people use race as an excuse to make others feel bad for them. Regardless of your skin color, if you feel inferior, superior or what not to other races, then that's where the problem is. You have to understand that no matter what you do , you will NEVER please everybody.
I would just try to be the best you can be and let the ppl that actually matter to you see who you are and what you have become ( a better person).

I think about it this way, in America, rather the world African-Americans receive the most amount of hate from everyone, even others who are discriminated against turn and down African-Americans, why is this? We are the only people in America who have no background ( I personally cannot trace my family back further than 1920), we don't have our own language, we had to create our own culture and we have to deal with ignorance from everyone, even people in own community. Then you have those who say that we should go back to Africa, well here's news for you, Africa does not want us, no one does we have no country to call our own , and yet people rape the culture we created just so that we could be a part of something better than what others have labeled us, and then they turn around and criticize us when it no longer suits their needs. I just don't understand why this is. What have we done to people for them to treat us this way? I mean I hold no hatred towards others, but I do hold hatred towards the idea that African-Americans are so horrible that we have to trotted on by everyone else. So if someone cold help me with this I would appreciate it. Why is it that people on;y see the bad in us and not the fact that this country was built on the backs of our ancestors?

There seems to be a lot of racism these days, its almost like we have fallen back fifty or sixty years. I know its real easy to point fingers and blame each other but any person with a resonable amount of intelligence can see both sides are at fault. Its also unfortunate that the media only shows half truths to ensure there will be more drama for better ratings. We all need to stick together and support one another especially since we have troops being killed daily in Iraq. Our troops are black and white and fighting side by side for the same cause, we should look at them for a good example. Instead we follow the leadership of Al Sharpton who rides a thin line between racism and equal rights, I mean you dont hear him apologizing to the Duke Lacrosse players who he had claimed were racists for raping a black woman who later admitted to lying about the whole incident. That clearly does not show equal rights in my eyes.

I do not know if I can answer this and still make sense.
The issue is not Black or White. The issue is difference. Skin color is only a part. Slavery was not invented by white Americans and was practiced by fewer people than most would believe.
Most of my immediate ancestors have been in the country for 10 or 12 generations. None in my direct line of descent ever owned another person of any color. Some lived in the rural South.
Of their neighbors, those who have problems because of skin color, most are uneducated and some are not too bright, but there are some very sharp professionally trained people as well. Their ancestors were never given 40 acres and a mule (not that anyone did).
Most might even treat their favorite horse (or truck) or hound better than they treat their wife and kids.
Bigotry is a learned behavior. It appears on both sides. People who are tolerant have found ways to beat their own upraising. Most of these will raise their children different than the ways they were taught. Learning to live together.

When they were little kids their daddy said that they should hate someone and Gee those people should be the ones to hate. Kind of like the Sunni and Shiite or the muslims and Jews. Or the Germans hateing Jews.
It is because people are cruel and mean and self serving.
To hate someone because the color of their skin is so wrong.
They used to hate my forefathers the Irish and Grandma told about the abuse and they thought they were stupid and couldn't learn. Now I hear stupid rednecks jokes and they make fun of peoples religion and what's it to them anyway?
You sound like a nice person I wish I had an answer for the cruelty in the world. why do the Islamic people sell little girls?
I saw the special on CNN behind the veil and I still see that little girls face in my dreams at night. She was so sad her daddy sold her to this man to be his wife. So basically her daddy sold her to be raped. That makes me cry.
I hate this world and I wish God would destroy everybody.

Because of ignorance! Some people believe that the color of your skin is a reflection of who you are as a person. A lot of times it is learned behavior that is passed on from generations to generations. Blacks are not the only people who experience racism. Hispanics, Asians, and Middle Eastern (just to name a few) people experience it to. And it is sad to say that with all of the hatred that blacks have endured over the years, we treat others with the same disrespect that we were once and still are treated with. Its a vicious cycle that may never end and its all because of ignorance!
Side note: SUPPORT THE JENA 6!!!!

Stop waiting for them to accept you because they won't. Stop waiting for them to stop stereotyping you because they won't.
One thing is for sure that ignorant people hate these things:
1 What they don't understand or don't want to understand
2 What they have mistreated and are now afraid of
3 What they wish they could be
When I say they I mean racist White people not the good ones and yes there are some I've met a few.

* "... between 2001 and 2003, blacks were 39 times more likely to commit violent crimes against whites than the reverse, and 136 times more likely to commit robbery."
* Between 2001 and 2003, blacks committed, on average, 15,400 black-on-white rapes per year, while whites averaged only 900 white-on-black rapes per year.
* "Of the nearly 770,000 violent interracial crimes committed every year involving blacks and whites, blacks commit 85 percent and whites commit 15 percent."
Just be realistic, people are afraid of black people, and they should be. Not all black people, but most of them. Black people in schools and in the workplace are more violent, rude, and have bad ethics. AGAIN, im not saying all, but MOST. And most balck people use their skin color as an excuse for eveything, saying quotes such as "Why, because im black?" You guys worry too much and thats your problem. Most black people are poor and uneducated becaue they ****** up in school, so they have no job, and commit crimes. Easy.
