Click "Save As..." and under "Save As Type:" select All Files and then type the name you want and add ".html" to the end of the file name.

When you save an html file in notepad it might save it as example.html.txt. You have to change the box that says "Save as type" to All Files instead of text (.txt). I recommend using Scintilla text editor. It doesn't save under any default extensions.

Save w/ extention ".html" or ".htm". If you upload via FTP, the URL address might have that extension.

Example: If you save the file as "flowers.html"... and you are the CEO of Yahoo, your URL may look like this --> www.yahoo.com/flowers.html

When you save the file, add .html to to the end.

So name your file something like random.html and it will save it as a html.
