When you say afraid of oneself do you mean it as in a phobic state? Or just in a general one? To fear yourself would not be good though there are people who do I are, they are aware of the dangers and threats they posses to others that may have manifested in various ways. They may be afraid of themselves for they know they pose a threat to themselves or others around them, that's the only method I can see someone fearing ones' self

I'm afraid of allowing myself to fall for the wrong person and end up getting hurt. I'm also afraid that because I have a hard time finishing what I start I will never be able to make it on my own and have to rely on my parents for the rest of my life. I mean I always have a plan but always seem to get distracted by little obstacles that stand in my way and I never seem to follow through.

There are a lot of people who don't like being alone. There are people who are afraid that their fears will over take them and that they will lose control of their life. One of the strongest needs of people is to be able to control their own lives. Someone who makes their own decisions and someone who understands themselves and others motivations. IF you have that then you pretty much have control over your life which in turn makes you feel secure.

When I was in college I was attacked one night on the way to my car in the parking lot on a landing of some rather dark and long steps. The guy jumped on my back and broke the heel to my stilettos knocking me to the ground and running my expensive panty hose. I don't know why, but I snapped and started beating him with my bookbag. He was screaming which attracted people and by the time they got me off of him, I broke a few ribs, his rotor cuff and his wrist. Turned out he was wanted for several local area rapes. But, it makes me afraid, VERY afraid of what I may do if I am ever attacked again....

I think a lot of us fear our dark side, of what we might become, or what we would do in tense situations. I am slightly afraid of becoming abusive and mean. In a lot of cases it becomes impeding on a social or romantic life, due to fear, and therefore it could be called a serious phobia or disorder.

I'm not afraid of myself. There are people that probably should be afraid of themselves, because of the way they act.

yes, quite. sometimes i look in the mirror and dont see myself, but someone much more evil, maybe its deep feelings inside of me. on the outside i seem normal, but nobody sees the hatred that lurks beneath, it frightens me, because although i have not lost my temper before, i dont know what would happen if i did. i know what i am caipable of, and what scares me the most is the sudden urge to harm others, although i dont. i do not understand this feeling and do not know where it comes from. i do not know why iget this feeling either. and i know for a fact i show no remorse and, although i havent, i would not feel bad if i killed someone.
all of this scares me, it dosent seem like ihave those morals.
