we had a lawyer before, his name is Steven G. Rodriguez (213) 388-8824, he was good, but he handles criminal cases(meaning not criminals but people that have some kind of charges that can be consider criminal cases, like shoplifting and stuff). But he can tell you if your case is in his area (free consultation).

Good Luck

It would depend on the type of lawyer you need.
Most specialize, just like doctors and you wouldnt want a real estate lawyer trying to handle a criminal case.
Check the local yellow pages or Yahoo local.
Most will give free initial consultations.

Ask your friends for references. See who's used a lawyer, and what they thought.

You can also call the local office of the state or county bar association. They may be able to give you a reference.

First of all your asking about two words that don't go together.
Good and Lawyer. Maybe dirty and Lawyer or scum an Lawyer.... but I just can't see good and Lawyer going together.
