I'm soon to be a college graduate. My parents are both deceased and I haven't talked to my sisters in years. I'm single as well. So, I don't really have much of a family.
The closest people I've shared my dreams, fears, love, hopes, frustration, and worries with have been....you guys.
I know maybe that sounds a little pathetic, but you guys have fulfilled the role of "family" to me. Now I'm being serious...if I were to send you an invitation to my college graduation, who would come?

I graduate (hopefully) in the summer of 2009 , so plenty of time to prepare.

It depends on which state you're in Riley Dearest, but if we can, Truck and I would give it a shot. Granted you're probably going to have to remind me (in two years I'll totally forget about this-- darned memory). We'd be honored to be at your graduation but it would depend on what stae you're in (she only goes to certain states)
You've been starred, Dearest.
** Sign us up, Dearest. She says she'll drive to Texas for you!

I'm really sorry to hear about your parents and your estrangement from your sister's. A graduation is an important part of your life and even if you don't get along with your sisters you should invite them.
My graduation from HS was in 2005. I walked onto the stage to get my diploma and looked out into the crowd and realized that my entire family had left. It phased me and I was hurt. My family never played a huge role in my life anyways - my dad worked 2 full time jobs and my step-mother resented me because I reminded my father of my biological mother. But looking back I think that what hurt the most was that noone was there.
So yes, if I knew you (unfortunately I dont), even through Y!Answers and there was any way possible for me to be there and support you I sure would.

Oh I am in a totally different country from yours, but I wish I had the power to transcend all the visa formalities and stuff and be there at your college. Anyway, I send my mind waves that will power you and encourage you further. Do well, and all the very best.
