I would rather she went to a clinic. I am a conservative Christians and I do not think abortion should be illegal for exactly that reason. I think abortion is wrong but we have to consider there are two lives involved. If a women is determined to get an abortion, she will get one whether it is legal or not.

I think we should focus on trying reduce the number of abortions in this country rather than trying to overturn Roe v Wade.

Matt should know that the daughters of christian conservatives tend to have more abortions, per capita, than the daughters of liberals. Girls in liberal families tend to have better access to birth control. Both groups are roughly equally promiscuous. Religion does not seem to inhibit sexual behavior. In fact, psychologists note that many sexual deviants were raised in overly strict and repressive homes--quite a bit above average.

Persephone is sadly mistaken about reality. Many married women have abortions. Sometimes it is because they may engage in adultery. More often it is due to health reasons. I have a cousin who had four children. She was diagnosed with cancer shortly after discovering she was pregnant with her fifth child. She elected to forego chemotherapy, and died not long after giving birth.

Had she had an abortion and endured aggressive treatment early on, it is quite likely she would still be around to mother her other four children.

All I know is that some politician in Washington is sure as hell not smart enough to decide whether or not I should have an abortion, should I ever be faced with that decision.

How about neither? My daughter should be able to come to me and explain the situation and mature reasonable action will be taken. Neither one of the two you mentioned would be an option. Actually I don't have a problem with woman having the right to choose. I do have a problem with those that use it as a form of birth control and they should be sterilized on their third visit to abortion clinics.

A clean safe clinic, but it hopefully doesn't happen.

I love my daughter, and would support her in whatever decision she makes. I would never disown her, and anyone that says they would never talk to their child again should have never had one. That is the most disgusting, selfish, pigheaded thing I have heard on here. That is sick!

I would rather that she come to me so that I can help her, any way I can, no matter what decision she makes, rather than put her trust in some politically-minded, dipsquat activist who thinks that they have some kind of right to insinuate themselves into my family matters, and at their own peril.

I don't have a daughter but my sister haves two girls and we have talked to them about safe sex,so i hope and pray they would not do it until they get married but if they do they know how to protect themselves.

I'd rather my daughter have the baby. If she was old enough to have the fun, she needs to face the whole consequences. If she wants to give the baby up for adoption...fine. But teaching her that abortion is a fail safe for sex is wrong.

EDIT: Kudos to RichWilliams. You hit the nail on the head.

I would rather my daughter not have sex until marriage, (which they did), or raise her child with us or give it up for adoption. I know of many couples who want to adopt and now days it's almost impossible to find babies, and yes, I know of several couples that have adopted. And abortions aren't safe - many young women have died, got infections or left sterile.

I would rather that she pay attention to the morals and guidance that her parents have given to her throughout her life and resist the urge to open her legs for a hor*& testostroned punk.
