Our insurance doesn't cover infertility, and I'm just wondering what our cost will be. His sperm have low motility, so will have to be placed inside me just before I ovulate...any ideas on the price tag for this procedure???

I would think that if you went to a fertility specialist, they may not automatically jump to doing an IUI procedure on you. From my experience, they prefer to do a lot of testing to rule out a lot of issues before they proceed with any procedures. Just my experience. If the fertility clinic is reputable, they should have a website and post their prices online.
We were supposed to have an IUI done this weekend but my HSG test showed blockage in one of my tubes so the IUI was cancelled. However, it would have been $345 for cash patients. Fortunately, my insurance covers IUI (wish they covered IVF too but not that lucky) so if we can ever get to the point of having it done, we just have to pay the $20 copay. We live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and from what I've found, there are only a handful/several reputable full-service fertility clinics in this area. Not sure where you are located but thought you might find the info helpful. Best wishes!

My cousin spent $500 for each Artifical insemination she had done. When that didn't work (after $5,000 spent) she moved to IVF and that was a lot more expensive. Total after 10 years of trying different methods and drugs they spent almost $50,000. Insurance covered the cost of testing but nothing else.

I assume you're talking about intrauterine insemination (IUI). I just had this procedure done in May and it cost $350 (that price does not include the injectables I had to take which were an additional $1,000 but you might not have to take meds).

It is usually around $500-$1000 depending on if any additional medications or tests are needed. I had researched prices online. I hate insurance ours is really limited as to what it will pay also when it comes to fertility things. Best of luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

$3000-$8000. But it varies you could probobaly find a local clinic to do it for less. The cost includes shots to increase the odds that you will get pregnant.
