It should be free and the airline should accommodate them provided the flight is not sold-out. It is no different that when parents allow their children to sit in a vacant seat.
An obese person may choose to purchase an additional sit if the flight tends to be overbooked or nearly sold-out.

I think airlines need to get a grip and realize that they're still getting a profit if they cram just 60 of us in there instead of trying to cram 100 of us in there (or whatever).
Most of the time, when I fly, there's loads of empty seats anyway. They didn't need to make the seats so small!
The seats are already too small so, no,obese people should not have to pay for an extra seat. Back when I was very overweight, I'd fly at night when there are fewer passengers just so I wouldn't be crowding folks on either side of me.

I dont think anyone should have to pay extra.
I think the airlines should make seating available for larger people.

They SHOULD charge double! Nothing more irritating than having to sit next to one in your 1/2 a seat. I'll even take a screaming kid for three hours first.
Of course, they won't. They are "politically correct" with them (gee whiz, don't want to hurt their feelings) so we have to suffer.

I think they do that to humiliate people... I am stick thin and I wish that they would make seats bigger for more comfort and elbow room.
