Do you know anything I could use to sharpen a knife without having to get out and buy a knife sharpner or some other tool?

If you don't own a sharpening tool, then go ahead and get one. You can find whetstones, and diamond hones for under $15, and ceramic knife sharpeners for only a few dollars.

I hate using a dull blade, so I have several kinds of sharpening tools, that work on various implements.

I suppose, if you absolutely do not want to sharpen your knives, then you could purchase new ones, hehehe....

you see, you should have the right tools for the job. you'll just fraustrate yourself when you dont get the right results.

anyway i have my knives sharpened out. i go to a scissors shop or a beauty and health store (with scissor servicing) and have the knife sharpened. the knives stay sharp for a long time and bring a clean cut.

You can get an electric sharpener from target or wallgreens for $10. They have one that even sharpens serrated blades.

It will depend on what kind of other tools you have laying around.
