Why do you like yahoo answers?

Why are you here? Do you like to ask or answer?

I love to answer because I like to get my knowledge or opinion across to someone (or at least attempt to). I also like reading other peoples' answers, they are humorous, insightful, and open my mind to whole new ideas that I never thought of before. Plus, it is great encountering people who've experienced and seen things, been places, and hold a lot of valuable knowledge.

That's a good question. Why do I like Yahoo! Answers?

I got into it by accident. I saw a question that I could answer; so I did. After that, I started to look for questions that I could answer.

I enjoy helping people; I always did. I am disabled from a serious disease, yet I still went out to help people, do volunteer work. It just had to be a different type of work. I most certainly am NOT bragging; many others help people, too. I am just explaining myself.

Now that I am bedridden (for the past 3 years), I have missed helping people, although many people still say that I help them a lot. I guess I don't tend to see how I do; but if I do help others, then that's great.

It is said that when one door is closed, God will open a window, or another door. I have always found that to be true. I spent a lot of time praying for a way to help more people than I was able to reach from my bed. I knew He would answer my prayers; and He did.

I then got my first laptop. After playing around with it for a few weeks, I found YA. I became addicted, like everyone else!

This was the window, a big window, from which I could help other people. Not a day goes by without my answering on YA. Sometimes, I know that I have really helped someone; it makes me happy. Other times, I just have fun.

One needs to have fun at times, as long as it's not at the expense of other people. I have found several horrible, evil "questions," and I reported those people. (It only happened 3 times.) Most people are sincere, caring people who want to help and be helped.

I have only asked one question since I have been on YA. It's certainly not because I think I know everything, because I surely do not. :-) It's just that I also love doing research; so I tend to find my own answers I like the hunt, so to speak. Also, I learn much from the answers that other people give.

So, to answer that part of your question, I mostly like to answer. I truly enjoy the feeling of helping people.

That's why I am here.

I have also met some very nice people. I read their questions & answers; and I have respect for them and for what they have to offer, both to me & to others. I would have to say that about 99% of the people on YA are nice people who only have good intentions. I am very happy to have the contacts that I do. I consider them my friends; I try my best to answer their questions first. Unfortunately, I can't get to all of them; and some days are difficult for me.

Like everyone else, I do my best, too.

I like all the different questions & I am here to see all the different opinions & to develop friendships. Also, to possibly help someone, have some real good entertainment & laugh & just really have a good time & hopefully make others smile, as well :-) I really prefer to answer, because when I ask a question when it comes time to pick a best answer I feel like I am making other people feel bad by not picking them. So I tend not to ask too many questions :-)

yes i love Yahoo Answers. the only things i can do without are Ask Mike, trolls and sexism/racism.

i am here because i have nothing better to do and it's the number 1 way to kill time.

i like to ask and answer but i can't ask question and get a lot of results so i have more answers than question.

I like Y!A because I love to meet new people. & every once in a blue moon I meet people I like to chat w/. I'm here because I'm addicted to the internet/Y!A>P&S...When I'm offline I think about what I'm missing here in P&S. I like to answer...I can't ask w/out answering & getting points...but I do like to ask too, just to get other peoples opinion.

. . . shoot man, there are probably as many different answers to this one as there are participants to this site!!! LOL!!
. . . and that's probably the best reason to be here . . .
it becomes a way of COMMUNICATION!
and sometimes its quite rewarding, when you can help someone with your answer (simply because you've got a tad more experience or knowledge or common sense . . .) Whatever! It's GR8!!!
