My wife and I argue alot and because we're devout Catholics we don't believe in divorce. Do you think that it's better to slap her around a little bit to get her to behave rather than getting a divorce?

Thanks for the advice, but does anyone have a Bible verse or two?

That wont solve anything believe me! Ive tried that method with the hubby before lol. My religion we dont believe in divorce either but I was determined to do get a divorce and run awhile back but running is the wrong thing to do. Something is going on and it takes two. Get godly marriage counciling, google some articles online. Be the best husband you can be and she will notice and want to do the same and be a better wife. Ignore the bad, dont yell. Talk civil and never start off with saying its your fault when... instead say WE need to improve on this area, maybe get some help. Usually the other person just wants to see a reaction, dont give them one and I bet! that will cut down alot of fighting. Wish you luck! Pray about it. It will get better.

Honestly, why is divorce the first thing that people think of doing? Or abuse?

There is a better way to settle this. Why don't you go talk to someone at your church to try and get marriage counseling. I'm sure there are just a few hurdles of communication to get through. Marriage is a sacred thing and NO ONE ever said it was easy. It is something you have to work at and it is rewarding if you let it be. Marriage also should not be self-centered. It should be looked at as a relationship that is focused on your spouse and her well-being. Trust me, this will make all the difference and the respect you want will come back to you.

My prayers and thoughts are with you so you can last in your marriage.

A freedom or a suitable is a state granted permission to do some thing interior a undeniable potential that they later set with proceedings. it particularly is a humorous tale. All of politics is a humorous tale. Telling somebody they are allowed to be loose isn't real freedom and is even worse being an entire perversion of what a suitable or freedom particularly is.

Why she doesn't slap u around instead. Idiot. If God or the church condemns the divorce, will also condemn violence too. She is not a pet that needs to learn how to behave. U r suppose to compliment her and she is suppose to compliment u. So, think about it before slapping her around and getting in trouble with God and with the law.

Where does it say in the Bible if things with your wife don't work out, just slap her around. Maybe she'd like to slap YOU around!!!!! You both need some marriage counseling to find out what makes a good marriage. It seems you forgot. I find that people who argue alot are very self-centered because they don't know how to listen to the other person.

A real catholic would NEVER consider slapping around his wife. Sounds like you both NEED to divorce.

I'm assuming you are not asking this as a literal question but are trying to make a point. And I think it's better to get a divorce. I'm not catholic, I'm Christian, and divorced and have recently been studying that are certain circumstances in which God does forgive divorce. I'm not going to get into a religeous discussion, but that's what I believe. If you can't make things work then it's better to dissolve the relationship than to stay in a loveless meaningless marrige for religeous reasons only.

The church will give you a divorce if it valid. Please don't blame it on the Catholics, because if you were a devout Catholic you two would not be acting this way. Maybe you should go to church and practice your faith before you say you are Catholic. Sorry to say but you give US Catholics a bad name, that's why so many others put us down.
