I'm currently in high school and it's sad. I constantly see people being insulted because of their race or looks and I'm sick of it.

I don't see why anyone would want to look like a total idiot just to "make fun" of someone.

So my questions are:

Have you ever seen behavior like this?
What are your thoughts on it?
And why can't people accept everyone else for who they are (IE: Obese, anorexic, short, tall, mentally retarded ect..)

Because they are not finished maturing yet. Wait until you enter the workplace, it's 10 times worse. Sorry, life's not fair. Get lipo and leg lengthening and have a go.

I have seen (or heard) people insult others and I do to (but jokingly...sorry) and I personally sometimes just get so really bored by these acts that I no longer give a damn. And some people probably can't accept others for who they are because they are standing on a pedestal...

Because most of them have not had the pleasure of reality slapping them hard in the face.

I have seen behavior like that in college. It is really sad at that level.

The worst part is that the ones that take the longest to mature usually have parents that have not fully matured. It is a vicious cycle.

Part of the problem is that many parents try to keep their teenagers as children until the law says they have to treat them as adults. Part of growing up has to do with making mistakes and engaging in behavior you might later regret so you can learn from them. If you have parents who fight all your battles for you and try to shield you from all the undesirable elements in this world, you will grow up to become an immature and irresponsible adult. That's why there are so many immature teenagers out there.

Oh man.

I totally agree with you.

Answers to your questions:
1.Yes, I've seen LOTS of behavior like this!
2. My thoughts -- its ridiculous!
3. People tend to think they're better than everyone else. They don't have much respect for others so they make fun of other people to make them "cooler".

Its sad. :(

1) teenagers are immature because they are teenagers.

2) some people feel bigger or more powerful when insulting others. Some people are expecailly prone to doing this when they are in their own group, so that they get alghter and positive reinforcement when insulting those not in the group.

Because teenagers are kids. Mature means fully grown. It's normal for a teenager to act immature because they have not matured yet. DUH!!
