i work at a funeral home, it mostly burns up, but the pieces that dont quite turn to ash have to be ground down to powder, they have to also go through it with a high power magnet to pull out any metal in your body, such as screws from surgery. TAKE THAT TOP CONTRIBUTERS

Because of the extremely high temperatures used for cremation, yes, the bone also is reduced to ash. But when a body is burnt in, say a house fire, the temperature is never hot enough to consume the bone.

Cremations decrease the physique to bone fragments, which aare then run via a pulveriser (which grids the bones to a minimum of a few thing like sand or powder; that's not possibly ashes.). communicate with a great crematorium interior the section the place he lives to work out in the event that they could (legally) launch the bones to the relatives, to permit for the classic ceremony.

zorro is right.... the large bones of the body like the femur and the joints supporting it at the hip are so thick and dense that even the fire of the crematory oven cannot turn them to ash.... and they must be pulverized a bit to fit in with all the rest of the ash..... little bones, like the fingers and ribs, etc do go to ash....

Yup. The body has to be burned at a very high temperature for that to happen, but the bones do burn into ash.
