I would contact someone about setting a trap. They can be dangerous if backed into a corner and they can carry rabies so I would contact a professional for sure

If you don't wish to harm the squirrel in any way, you need to go up there. Often the squirrel will immediately run out the way he came in. If there are no other squirrels and you are sure he ran out, eliminate the entry point and all other entry points. If he is still in the attic but hiding, make sure the access to the living area of the house is secure and chase after him. He will eventually make for the exit. Once gone secure the attic.

To prevent them from coming back place mothballs around the vulnerable areas. This tends to discourage them from coming back.

Call Pest Control & they will set a trap for it & then release the squirrel somewhere.

I had this problem before, I bought one of those safe traps and then took him for a ride. They can do alot of damage to the house so you want to get rid of him as soon as possible.
