I suspect that for his safety he is not allowed to visit there. Security would be a nightmare. Some wacko(s) might try and take him down. Doing so would cause real trouble for already strained relations between the US and Iran. While it may disappoint him, once it is explained to him I am sure he will understand.

It is kind of like when Nikita Kruschev visited the US and wanted to see Disneyland. He was not allowed to do so, not because he would steal any secrets or anything but, because of security His safety as a visiting world leader was important.

If Bush visits some country one would expect the utmost in security for his protection. Well, the same applies to all world leaders.

It's not Americans, that's our governments policy. The fact that he can come here alone amazes me.

You claim he had nothing to do with 9/11, and while proof doesn't exist, it's not too hard to imagine he might have lent some intelligence or financial support to forces that wanted to conduct 9/11. Probably like 0.00001% chance of that being the case, but still, if it was, I wouldn't want to give him a chance to pretend to support the US and pretend grieve with us for our losses on September 11th.

Perhaps it has to do with the fact that the President of Iran has been politically opposed to the US since he was sworn in.

Personally, I think we should have let him place a wreath like he wanted to, but that's politics for ya'

He may have nothing directly to do with 9/11 but he is a supporter of terrorism around the world and was one of the leaders when members of the US embassy in Iran were taken hostage. He also openly advocates the destruction of Israel and alludes to the destruction of America for supporting them. So naturally we should welcome him with open arms...are you some kind of idiot.

Because he is a security concern. Not him to us but us to him. The government doesn't want to deal with having to protect him during such a visit. I'm surprised we don't just assassinate him. He's a scum bag.

He shouldn't be allowed in the country. I think the CIA should snipe him and blame it on a radical organization.
