Aren't we sending a clear message that you can attack America and get away with it?

for those who didn't get the memo, Bush announced last year that the search for Bin Laden was off. He announced this on the fourth of july, so you may have been busy drinking beers and eating BBQ. But later, when someone who was paying attention asked hi about it, he claimed that he was no longer concerned with Bin Laden. So yes, there is a refusal. But dissecting my word choice doesn't answer the question.

Yes, and I suspect the Pakistanis are secretly protecting him so will keep sending them billions to help find him.

The Republicans often claim that the Democrats are soft on terror, but if anything Bush has done nothing but treat bin Laden with kid gloves. So much for getting justice for the 3,000 bin Laden burned to death!

Refusing to find Bin Laden is being confused with the inept practices of hunting down this barbarian towel head. But really, how can anyone think we are "tough on terror" when our own borders remain wide open.

Refuse to find bin Laden? Who said we refused?.

Think about this, if you never had any type of I.D.,no credit cards, nothing . No family,no friends. One day you just got up and walked out in the wide blue wonder. How easy do you think it would be to find you?
Now imagine that you decided to live in an underground cave.

Its not a matter of finding Bin Laden. If we find him today do you think terrorism will cease to excist? The objective is to eradicate the terrorist network which is exactly what we are doing.

Refuse to find Bin Laden? Sweety have you forgotten that we have troops in Afghanistan?!?!? We refuse to go into Pakistan, and if that to you means refusing to find Bin Laden, then you can no longer say anything bad about us being in Iraq. There is a big difference. Turn off NPR and leave moveon.org for five minutes so that maybe you can think for yourself, and look at the entire picture.

No one refuses to find Bin Laden. This is not a matter of refusal to accomplish that goal, but an inability to succeed at it. Two different things.

Ultimately, however, the message IS clear and pretty much the same.

You are so obviously wrong on all counts. No one in the US is refusing to find Bin Laden. After 9/11 we went into Afghanistan and cleaned out the muslim crazies. We went into Iraq and cleared out Saddam and his sons. People who attacked us and want to harm us are being defeated.
Based on Mr. Clinton's poor performance against terrorists, Bin Laden thought we would not retaliate. He thought wrong. Bin Laden is so irrelevant, he is reduced to sending out a video tape every three years.

Where do you get the idea that we "refuse to find Bin Laden?" Just because he hasn't been found doesn't mean we refuse to find him.

In addition, do you really believe that if Bin Laden is found and put away terrorism against the US will end?

The "attack" on America was only to make Americans mad enough to fight. The 'war on terror' has nothing to do with Bin Laden...it's all about who profits.
