I am 38 wks pregnant and 2 days ago I had sex with my husband...like 3 hours later i started having contractions but they were coming every 2 minutes and baby was moving a lot, I didn't know if I was in labor so I decided to wait and I did,the contractions stopped after 2 hours and I was a little worried. Did this happen because I had sex with my husband? And if it happens again should I go to the emergency room? Thanks

sex can bring on labor so if you want to have your baby already have sex with your partner but one thing you have to have an orgasam, this helps the contractions right along. I work for a doctor who has been in practice for 40+ years and this was the answer he gave me.

At 38 wks, go for it. It is because of the sex, but it's ok for you to deliver at this point. No reason to go to the ER. I'd have sex, and then in an hour or two, have sex again. This should help you go into labor.

sex, especially this late in pregnancy will produce contraction...normal, not enough to go into labor with..but enough to help labor along if you are in it, and certainly enough to cause some discomfort for a bit. It's nothing to worry about.

Sex actually causes you to go into labor. But it sounds more like braxton hicks. But when in doubt go into the er the worst they can do is send you home

there is a chemical in sperm that can trigger contractions, as well when the female orgasms. but it sounds like this is just by chance and you were having false labor or i call it pratice contractions that prepare your body for the real thing.

You'll get contractions from sex for a few hours after. Its caused by a hormone in the sperm, and by hormones released when you orgasim.
Theres no threat on it, its perfectly normal and safe.

Something in the seman can cause childbirth. I forget what its called, but having sex that late in pregnancy is actually a tip I've read that helps bring about childbirth faster.

It will help bring on labor because it softens the uterus wall, the hormones that is sent through your body when you uhmm orgasm is also a help

Did this happen because i had sex with my husband was thequestion, the only way to find out the answer is to have sex with someone else and see if the same thing happens with them.

no the sex didnt exactly help what sex does is help induce labor. but sex during pregnancy is good.
