Heya im supposed to explain to a group soon about the hidden meaning behind our favourite album and mine is Metallica 'Reload' but i dont know what the message or meaning is behind it i just like the music and some lyrics that i can relate to. Would anyone be able to explain the meaning to this album please or what inspired them to write it? Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you for time! :)

Well lets see here. There seems to be a lot of songs on that album that talk about personal issues such as Low Mans Lyrics That song seems to be about wanting the cake and eating to. The best of both worlds I guess you can say. My eyes seek reality. My fingers seek my veins saids to me that he wants to clean up his life but wheres the fun in that.

The Unforgiven II. Meny people have giving insight on this song. Some say hes writing about past relationships and how he doesn't for give. When James was asked that the song ment his only reply was "Forgiving no one and ending up alone."

The Memory Remain is about a once-great, now forgotten celebrity of who I don't know.

Better then you is about Ignorance.

The Devils Dance is about Addiction

So its is pretty clear that they where not writing about just one thing. Most Metallica fans know that most of James songs where about his personal struggles with drugs and Alcohol. Do more research on the band and you will get your answers...

Personally, I would have done Master of Puppets, about the feelings of powerlessness.

check wikipedia. most of the Metallica albums have a decent explination there.

Hate to break this to you, but . . . "Reload" is just an album of songs that didn't make it on "Load."

Or at least that's what I've been told.
