You can go to http://www.crucial.com and use their tool to find out what kind of RAM (memory) your computer needs. They can even test your system and tell you what you need and have in the computer (each slot).

You can get cheap memory at http://www.newegg.com or http://www.tigerdirect.com

The way I read your question you already have two memory DIMMs not installed in your computer and you ned to identify them.

#1 Check for a sticker on the module. They may have a PCXXX number written on there.
#2 There are keys on the connector tht should match your slot on the motherboard. These are here to dis-allow connecting in a memory stick that may cause damage. Meaning the voltage is different or the interface is different enough for damage to occur. If this matches it is not saying it is compatible with your system, but these keys should match as a minimum compatibility test.
#3 Read the part number form the IC and search them along with the vendor name on the web. This will not tell you the module density, but it will tell you the interface type, voltage, and speed.

#4 Install and do a memory test. There are many out there. I personally like the memory test in the linux Mythdora distribution CD in the options section. This memory test will ID the module and detail how your BIOS set it up then you can go ahaed and run it. If you use this free distribution CD then be careful to not wipe out your hard drive by actually installing the application, you can un-plug the data cable from your hard drive to be safe or find a different free memory test program.

http://belarc.com and get their free Advisor program. It will give you a complete readout of the memory, available slots, and lots of other information about your computer. Invaluable tool. And unlike critical.com and the other on-line scanners, it will not attempt to sell you memory for the computer.
