Yes, I am being serious. In the 90's, when grunge was threatening to take over the music industry Hanson burst on the scene and brought us all a little sunshine. They also set the stage for the more popular boy bands' rise to prominence. Just their one single "MMMBop" raised the standards of lyrical integrity to levels no band since has been able to reach.

Maybe people will understand their brilliance "This Time Around".

EDIT : Actually, I believe if they had written this song before "MMM Bop", they might have had more longevity. It's nothing brilliant, but it's a very catchy pop tune.

They were like so HAWT when I was in High School. Everyone was all crazy about All 4 One and Boz 2 Men, But Hanson was the coolest band ever, well right after The New Kids on The Block- that is. NKOTB is the all time best band EVER!

'Bout time, biznitches!

And how about "This Time Around"?

A veritable hotbed of intellect! The literal interpretation of all humanity! *Is deeply moved* Thank you.

Ah, heck, Rachel , they were after my teen heyday, which was spent in a whirl of Paul Simon (guy never could write as well as Hanson) but dang those boys are CUTE! Now. The little one is precious. I'd do that. Yes I would.

woah. I never thought I'd hear anything like that. Hanson did not create the boy band. If you think about it they've been around for a long time. The Temptations for instance. And further back then that I'm sure. There was new kids on the block and a ton more. And Um bop if anything it influenced the downward spiral of nonsense words into music. I don't know if actually started it off, but it didn't help.

If nothing else you pumped some much needed life into a listless R & P today. If you are saying it somewhat tongue in cheek, it's hilarious. I'm sure Jann Wenner is dumb enough to stick them into the RARHOF one fine day. Still, Hanson hardly killed off grunge. Grunge killed itself (and I mean literally, Andrew Wood, Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley). As for the sunshine, they can keep it. Can barely type right now, I'm laughing so hard. The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Nirvana, Hanson.

yeah, their music is pretty cool but the Backstreet Boys were my obsession by that time.

Umm, well I see your point that they made a splash in the grunge era, but still: they only came out with one single that most people can't stand. It wasn't exactly a moment of musical genius, nevermind "lyrical integrity." Start listening to the class rock station more. :)
