It's quite normal. And it's merely sadness at feeling old.
But you really are the victim of an illusion and you would do yourself well to talk yourself out of it. Thirty is really still quite young.
Turning 40 is definitely more painful and you will look back on 30 with longing at that point. So don't waste your time now, enjoy your youth and put it to good use while you have it.

I'm 36, I didn't feel sad when I turned thirty, but most people do. I have to many other issues to deal with, but I'm sure one day I'll wake up and ask myself how did I ever get this old. That time just isn't now. ;-)

Decade birthdays (30,40,50...100) are always full of melancholy and can be a bit sad. The passage of youth and of possible regrets. But as my Mom always has said, "It beats the alternative!" Happy Birthday! You are still VERY young. Turn your sadness into positives of what you are going to do with your life next.

I felt sad when I turned 25 a couple months ago. I don't think it means you don't appreciate what you have it just means you'll miss who you used to be. It's perfectly normal.

because you are getting old and are afraid that your god isn't real and you will live a fearful life and never enjoy everything life has to offer. its normal.
