The hard drive should be under a removable cover either on the underside or side of the machine, there should also be covers for memory and possibly a mini-pci device on the bottom, first make sure you unplug the machine and remove the battery before you do anything else, also there should be a small symbol in the plastic of the case indicating which cover is fro what just look around next to the covers and you should see them. You may also go to the manufacturers web site and look up your machine and they should have a users manual that will show where everything is.

Actually it's very easy! (We're talking desktops here, right? Laptops are a bit more complicated).

The computer generally has two IDE ports on the motherboard. Each IDE port can handle two devices. Just make sure that one is set to 'master' and one to 'slave' (there's a little connector on the back of the drive, and a sticker on the drive will show you how to configure it).

no it is very simple .follow this ,unplug said computer take the cover off the comp, ground yourself to case, unplug the ide or sata cable and the power plug ffom the drive, take out the screws usually four that secures the drive,-now your done on that comp take cover off second comp ,unplugged of course, locate the existing hard drive switch the jumper to master on the hard drive in hand put the jumper to slave, mount slaved hard drive in empty bay ,hook up the ide or sata cable and power cabel replace cover and boot, the plug and pplay bios will detect it your in business .

Physically it is pretty easy.

If it is IDE make sure you set the master/slave jumpers correctly.

If you want to use the OS and software on the drive on the new system than most likely it will not work as all the core drivers will be wrong.
