I lived north of Dallas, Texas for about 15 years and then moved to a small town of 300 in New Mexico about two years ago. Liked it at first but now I miss Texas. Is this just probably a period of "Texas" home sickness?? Hopefully. I want to like it here but.... doesn't seem like that's working right now.

Anyone ever feel this way from moving to a bigger town to a smaller town?

It's not the size of the town that matters. In fact, you can be lonely, home sick, etc. anywhere in any sized town. The fact is you left Texas. That is the problem. While I'm not a native Texan (I got there as soon as I could), I do know what it is like to leave it since I've left it and other places under the Army plan of personnel rotation. Other than the high country of Colorado Springs, Colorado, I have never missed a place so much as Texas. Go back and you will feel better.

Texas will probably never get out of your system. I moved away 15 years ago and have wanted to go back ever since then. Time,Family and money prevented me from returning. I visit regularly and hope to move back in 2008. Be Texas proud wherever you are! good luck
