I remember reading this book for a young adult novels class and i really liked reading it. I also read the pigman which was another good book. I would highly recommend this book.

We read it in high school, 9th grade I think. My recollection is that it was at least a little bit entertaining and it wasn't at all hard to read - the story moves quickly. It feld "old" when I read it so I bet it really feels dated now, but it was okay. There are far worse school reading assignments!

It is boring and stupid they were reading this book in the movie "Dangerous Minds ". Yes it is a stupid book . good luck .
