I much preferred that the kid was born while I was in my twenties. That way I could keep up the enormous amount of awake time an infant demands, as well as the physical exertions a toddler and youngster demands, and not be too tired to take on the complete bizarro whatevers adolescence demands... AND then live long enough to see an adult on her own, mature and able in most circumstances.
However I know people who had their kids later, too, and they seem quite happy with them, though tired a lot of the time. Life has a way of occurring when desired in one way or another, and we mustn't forget adoption, so I respect that and will add: when to have a kid is up to the parent/s.

I was 25 when I started having my children, had just gotten married and got pregnant right after!! I wasn't trying to get pregnant, and wish that we had waited a while, but I love my daughter and the other two that I was able to space out 2 years apart!!
Now, if I could go back and do it all over again, I would had waited a year or so, to give me and my (now ex) husband a while to grow together, and then tried like a year later!! I feel that having kids in your 20's is much better than waiting until your late 30's because you will have more energy to do things with your kids!!

I had one child at 20, the second at 30. Both experiences were positive. My life conditions had changed, but my love for my babies remained the same.
It is a personal decision, based on inner feelings and perhaps economic considerations. For me, these factors had no influence.
I am happy and satisfied with my decisions.

I had my kids in my early 20's. It was hard financially BUT it was good because I had parents and grandparents for support, I had more energy and we like a lot of similar things now that they are in their teens!

Wants to have kids later in life.
That way more of our life experiences will influence the genes we give to our kids.

I don't think the age is relevant. What is relevant is how ready you are for children. ARe you financially viable, emotionally stable? Can you offer your child a life free of worry and fear?
