I used to believe in true friendship. But i do have my serious doubt now. With recent deceit and certain actions behind my back.I truly think friendship is over,And dead full stop.

Yes I do, very much so. I believe in true friendship because I have a best friend that I was out of contact with for years. Then when I had overwhelming trouble in my life and was truly hanging on by just a thread, I called her. She saved my life. Even after all those years I went without calling or seeing her. You find out who your true friends are when things aren't going right because everybody else jumps ship when you get down to the nitty and gritty.

Oh yes, I had one really true friend once, she taught me how to be one. After being a Hermit for years, & I do mean years, I am now learning to practice what she taught me. There is so much more to friendship than meets the eye. I have begun some relationships even here on Yahoo that have real potential. Sometimes I think that all it really comes down to is really just opening your heart to someone, we all are so guarded, so afraid of being hurt. We are afraid if we show our gentle, tender side someone will tear it to shreds, & it's true, some may try. But courage is knowing that the real part of you can never be damaged, & it is so worth the risk.

Yes I have had friendships that lasted for over 40 years and ended because my friend died not because we became estranged. I have other friends whom I've know for at least 20 years and the one friend that I've known for less time than that I have known for about 12 years. I believe that when you're some ones friend you there for them through thick and thin just like family. Maybe that's why my friendships last so long. My friend who died I'd know since 3rd grade and when she died last year we'd known each other for 43 years. My oldest girl friend now I've known since our children were 2 years old and they are now 28 so that's 26 years and I don't see that changing anything anytime soon. My children also have friends since they were children so it seems to be a family trait that I'm glad to pass on.

There is nothing called True friendship and False friendship. It all depends upon the individuals who make it. Once should know to give the respect to the word called Friendhip.

Yes, I have friends I love like another part of my soul. Circumstances will sometimes mean we do not see each other or speak for months but as soon as we do we are on the same wavelength.
Far closer than family, family of the heart in a way.

Yes, I am so lucky, I have friends from my early schooldays (I am 51 now) and although we may not see each other as often as we did, we are still always there for one another. I am blessed with a few really good friends who I would do anything for and I know the feeling is mutual.
