The racism has to stop. I have my own stereotypes about race. You are not a racist if you prefer your daughter to be with a man that looks like yourself. It's natural. I don't want her dating black or hispanic or asian or middle eastern men, but that doesn't mean it's because I hate them. I love my daughter and I want to be familiar with the culture of the guys she tries to date.
She is not dating anyone anyway because I don't even like white guys when it comes to her. LOL

My grandmother was from a "mixed" race. She was half Native American and half French.
She was born sometime in the 1890's and had a hard time in the "white" world. I do hope peop le don't still have to go through the things she did.My mother also faced many challenges growing up.It was always the "white" people who picked on her even when she was just a little girl. Most of my mom's playmates were little black girls who just excepted her as another little girl.I am 'white" myself after so many generations have gone by but I still feel the pain when I remember the stories my mom told me about how and when she grew up.
I wish peo ple would just get over this race stuff, life is hard enough without looking for problems.

That question had a lot more punch to it 20 years ago. Nowadays there's enough mixed race kids around the place for it to be fast becoming a non-issue.
I know several such, including the children of Sammie Davis, Jr and Mai, his Swedish wife. They got no problems. They think of themselves as human first, American second and Jewish third.

Years ago it was not known what the ramifications of mixed children would become. Now the mixed have married the mixed and have just become part of the culture they way it should have been in the first place. No racism is allowed in my home. We are all God's children.

The child shouldn't be confused by "which" group to be friends with....he or she should be taught to care about all people regardless of skin color. Considering her parents are white and black (for example) they obviously don't care about race, and will teach their children the same.
Everyone has different beliefs on wether people of different races should have children. If the parents raise them right, they shouldn't be bothered by people who judge them on their skin color.

Well I guess that goes to show your ignorance. My daughter is mixed as is my stepson. And for that matter, my 2 year old son could be classified as mixed as well. His father and my husband is Puerto Rican. My kids have learned to make friends based on their personalities or attitudes towards people rather than their skin color. Do I think racism still exists? Yes, on all sides. Do I think our next generations will continue to make the judgement of people based on skin color continue to decline? Yes I do. One of the smartest things my 8 year old daughter said to me this week, was she is making lots of friends in her new school, but there are still kids who think they are all that and a bag of whatever. She chooses not to be friends with them, not judge kids based on what country they come from or what color their skin is.

i think that they wont have that problem as often as u make it sound... i mean if they find a friend like me that doesnt care what race they are they wont be confused... i think that if i [a black girl] can have friends that are black, white, hispanic, asian, etc] then a mulatto child can and shuld too :)
anyone who says otherwise is just sad and probably racist

no. im biracial & ive never had a problem makin/choosing friends. ur friends with who ever has sumthing in common with & can relate to things u can not because of their color. if u live in a black community most likely the majority of ur friends are goin to be black & vice versa with a white neighborhood. i think we/ biracial ppl have way bigger problems than picking what race to be friends with.
EDIT: WHATS THE THUMBS DOWN FOR?????
