Basically I am looking for a new cell phone but I don't want to be paying out the wazoo! I have cingular and I just want to switch over my SIM card and use a new phone. Where are some places to go OTHER than ebay? I don't like ebay...

Check out the Cingular online store--online prices seem to be better than their actual stores.

No point paying anything when you can get one for free, or even find a cash back offer. And yes, stay away from ebay or buying a used phone - there's always a chance that you'll be buying a stolen phone, or one that has a battery that's almost ready to kick the bucket.

I would try Craigslist first (www.craigslist.org).
The pros of using craigslist are:
1. You can do a search in the "for sale" section of the web site and see if someone is selling a gently used phone.
2. You can place an Ad yourself for a phone and get replies from potential sellers in your mailbox
3. You have the freedom to negotiate your price
4. No need to log-in or submit any personal info
5. Finally, you can go and see the phone before you actually buy it!

Try online first, then call some of the local stores, they sometimes put phones on clearance in the store, and you can buy them and just transfer your info over.
That's usually how I find a new phone.
