Yes, they are guilty of a vicious racist assault. Case closed.

From what I've understood about this, I haven't been following it that closely mind you, I think they should be punished to some degree. I think the whole attempted murder thing or whatever should be dropped. That's just bs. That white kid they beat up, he was out of the hospital and off going to parties, I believe that night. So he obviously wasn't hurt that bad.

I'm not sure what the kids who hung the nooses got. But I heard people say they should have been expelled. They shouldn't have. It may have or may not have been meant as a hate crime. I hang nooses from my trees around halloween time every year and if I ever get the cops called on me because someone takes it the wrong way...I'll loose it lol. If it was meant as a hate crime, then suspend them for a day. It wasn't that big of a deal.

The black kids and white kids involved in the fight should be punished for fighting though. But nothing as harsh as they're accused of. A fine and some community service will do just fine as a punishment

Without a doubt, yes! I'm so ******* sick of black people pulling the race card on every bad thing that happens to them. You don't get and education it's that white mans' fault. You start selling and doing drugs it's the white mans' fault. You live off the government it's the white mans' fault. When is society going to stand up and say, "you and you alone are solely responsible for your actions in life".
Yes, what those dumb *** white kids did was over the top and just ******* stupid. But for six black kids to beat the **** out of one white kid, especially when he's down and unconscious is a ******* HATE CRIME PEOPLE!!! Hello, no matter which way you look at it....it's a crime, a serious crime. People CAN NOT go off beating the **** out of each other because their feelings are hurt. That creates disorder and chaos and justice then fails.
And another thing, if your black answer me this. Most if not all races have been oppressed or enslaved at one point or another. And after all that oppression through all these years of civilisation why is their only one race that still cries fowl?

Louisiana has a law about all accused of attempted murder have to be tried as adults, and that is the crux of the problem. While it was dispicable that 6 kids would continue to attack a boy who was unconscious (what ever happened to marquis of queensbury rules? and don't attack someone who can't defend themselves?), I don't think they were trying to kill the kid. This seems to me to be nothing more than aggrevated assault. The fact that the kids are black or white has got to stop being a factor here. Black kids should not expect to be able to break the law because people who are now long dead were slaves. White kids have got to get over the fact that they've been told that they're better than someone else because they have white skin-it's the stupidest reason I can think of to justify treated other people badly. This is a problem that has been simmering for a long time;why can't we move forward from this? It just boggles my mind.

I personally believe that they should be. This situation is like someone carving a slanderous word into your car or writing in permanent marker on your locker. Even writing your name on the bathroom wall. Does this mean that we have the right to beat the person that offended us to death? I don't believe that it does. But because the disgusting boys hung noose that doesn't give the offended six boys the right to beat them and kill one! They are all just as bad as each other. I think the boys that hung the nooses should be sent to jail for slander and defamation of character and the other boys sent to jail for battery, assault, and manslaughter! They are all wrong. And two wrongs do not make someone right!

jail I should think . And I also agree that Mr. Sharpton should stay at home . They have to face some type of punishment not let go scott free . If you cant do the time ,dont do the crime.

Let the punishment fit the crime. No freeloaders using the race card to undermine what was obviously a heinous attack against a kid of another race.

I'm disgusted by Sharpton's response.

If they are found guilty they should be punished. Not sure what the average punishment is in La for assault.
