I'm sorry, I'm just a concerned Chargers fan. I'm not saying that the Chargers lost only because of the 'newly discovered' tactics. I just need to know some more details. Pplease clarify the whole story and correct any misinformation. THNX!

I love the Chargers. Good for you.

As for Pats, it would mess up the schedule and income of the league if they couldn't play. It would cost money, and the NFL is a business. It's not going to happen. They probably should have suspended Mr Bill there for a couple games, but not much more than that.

I am a Patriots fan and I was angry when this all happened. Why would the best team in the league do this?

My husband told me how it works. All teams tape the games and the other coaches and review and study those tapes after the game. The review players moves, plays etc. They are not supposed to study the signals of the defensive coaches but they do. In no way can a camera record those signals, interpret them and get them to the opposing teams coaches and to the players during that game.

I am still not happy that it goes on and I think the fines are well deserved but it is just like being in Jr. High with all the other secretly guilty coaches pointing fingers for what has been common practice since pro football began.

I think the whole system stinks...........

I am from MA and was disappointed when I had head this on the news. But I have head that this kind of tatics go on a lot, even your team could be guilty of it maybe just have not been caught. We were so be it, the fines will be payed and we will play on but more then likely this will not happen again. By the way if they stopped every team for doing some sort of cheating there wouldn't be many teams left playing right now..

Because EVERY team cheats...it's not just the Pats. The Chargers do it, the Jets do it, Green Bay (i think) was caught for it last year. If they say oh well, the pats cheated, they forfeit every game for the rest of the season (or even just a few games) Well, that would be unfair (and would completely ruin this year's football season for high paying, loyal patriots fans.)

It should have been an automatic forfeit. Our kids watch this and then we wonder why they cheat. They should not get the reward of the super bowl. It should be the same every time someone is caught cheating. Forfeit the game at least

The team wasn't cheating as a whole....just a few of the coaches. That's why Belichek was fined and due to the fact that the head offices didn't keep track of what their coaching staff was doing, the Patriots were fined as well as forced to give up either the first round draft pick (if they make playoffs) or the 2nd and 3rd round picks (if they don't make the playoffs)

Since the NFL took that action, they are going to allow the Patroits to play the rest of the season. I think it was a good enough punishment.

What would you do, cancel their season? The chargers really looked bad, of are the pats really that good? If you're concerned, you should change your signals.

Why should the players be penalized for something the coaching staff perpetrated? That is why they are still playing. Any fines or punishment will be levied against the coaches or upper management. Plus, it's the NFL, you can commit felonious acts with only minor slaps on the wrist. Why should cheating be any different?

The patriots did not cheat the coach did, it did not help the players in the game, only the coaching staff for a later game. The coach should have been suspended for four games. P.S, I am a Pats Fan have season tickets for thirty years.
