I've taught in front of classes, so speaking isn't that bad. If I sing, I set dogs to howling for counties around. This is why I don't call people to sing Happy Birthday to them.

Strange thing I don't get stage fright, sang some Christmas carols to about 150 people and had to sing a solo to some 100 seniors just a few weeks ago, problem was they were French and I sung in English. Did Samuel Wesley's 'Lead me Lord' Years ago I did a lecture to some 600 students in a vast auditorium .

I've never had a problem singing before an audience. I've done this from a very young age and eventually was classically trained.

As for speaking in front of a full house, no problem. I've been a public speaker and advocate and taught classes in Workforce Development for years.

Or, maybe, I'm just a ham!

LOL! I loved your description of your singing!

As a child, I sang most every Sunday before my Dad preached. I sang solo and it never bothered me to do so in front of any crowd. When I got into my teens, I sang for many people on a local T.V. show. I only made the try-outs once and got to sing only once. I sang on a radio program from Denton, Tx. when I was about fifteen. Currently, I only sing with a broom and mop as my audience. lol

Speaking, in public? Who me? lol No, I do not get nervous when I have to speak on a topic I know very well! If I know my stuff, I get myself organized and try to give them as much information as I possibly can!

I've taught classes.
Church gatherings.
Bible studies
Written and presented plays, in churches.
Been in so many plays I cannot count them now! lol
As an interior decorator, I had to make many presentations to business men and women. I loved doing this!
So, I have no problem speaking in public forums in which I am well informed.

Yes I am. I ask open questions at city council meetings, usually three part questions if I'm really peeved about something they are/are not doing.
I have and would get up in front of a large audience to voice my opinion and try to convince others to side with me. I have a thick skin. At times my husband would tell me what to say, then he would sit 2 or 3 aisles away to keep from being embarrassed. I have been fortunate not to be bood or have something thrown at me. No doubt I'd empty the room if I sang. I took music lessons for 11 yrs and can really play the clarinet and have many times, band, orchestra ect..

I am very comfortable singing in public. It took me awhile to get comfortable playing the piano or other instruments in public. Speaking in public is my least favorite even though I spent eight years as a stage actress in San Francisco. Portraying someone else is different that being one's self in front of an audience.

No I don't like speaking before an audience or singing in public. Once, I had this bright idea that my husband (who was a very good guitar player) and I could sing a duet at the church. No sooner had we begun to sing, than my voice went quieter and quieter and quieter until I was mouthing to his singing...it was one of the worst moments of my life...as for those lovely times at school when you were called up on the stage - urk!! Still makes me nervous. In fact at my first concert aged 5, I wet myself on the stage playing the tambourine! The only time I wasn't nervous was when I played the back end of a horse and was covered in hessian!!

I was so shy and self-conscious it was painful, until I went into nursing in my 20's. I worked with another nurse named Joy,
and one time, when I was very new, she told me I was an exceptional nurse and the patients, co-workers and doctors all liked me, and were in awe of my expertise. She changed my life by telling me that. I was forever changed. I worked for years in the evenings as a DJ in a club so I had to talk between playing the records, that helped too. I used to sing in a Trio with my two sisters. My family was very musical. When
I was in Law, I had to train and speak before many, go before judges etc., so I finally got over it. I sang in a Country Band for awhile in the 80's. And as you all can see, I blab on and on here sometimes. You'd be surprised at how quiet I really am. But then I can become as silly and funny as a goose in a minute. lol Oh, my children say I'm an excellant Mother & Nana.

I'm pretty comfortable speaking in front of a group...I haven't done it for awhile so maybe it would bother me a bit now. As far as singing, I have no problem if I am with a group, even a small group. If I have to sing solo then I get pretty nervous....unless I can also hide behind my piano...then it is better...not good, but better, lol.....

I don't have a problem speaking to an audience. My singing leads a lot to be desired. I have a very funny story about my singing ability which I will tell sometime, if someone reminds me.
