Some are able to. But from what I've seen, they are by far, the minority.
As long as one relies on miracles and faith as their guiding force in life, it makes logic and reason take a back seat to all other considerations.

The religious right has Jesus as their example whether the man existed or not, died for our sins or not, and therefore their reasoning is based on his teachings of being good to our fellow man. There will never be anything wrong in that. To cap it, they have stronger convictions on the morality of family values. Do you know the meaning of the word "ethical" - I think not, and don't take it as an offense, ethics has long ago disappeared and it is a vacant, useless word. America, was never ethical, yet this did not prevent America from being great.

Your question is insulting and mean!
Of course the religious right is "capable of making complex decisions based upon reason, study and broad understanding."

No, the religious right is racist and biased on all levels when it comes to the middle class and minority needs, therefore they can not reason and have no broad understanding. Their ethics are backwards and all of them are really asking to divide the country as in 3rd World countries whereas there is only 'the poor' and 'the very rich'. Come on.

I think you have a point.
Excessively exaggerated, but a point none the less.
How do you feel about Move-on-dot-org, the Communist/Marxist/Socialist anti-American, anti-religion front group being the guiding light for the choice of Presidential candidates in the Democratic Party?
If the Left succeeds in their endeavors, there will no longer BE a U.S.A.
That takes all complexity out of the question. If you are an American, this imperfect system leaves you with only one SIMPLE choice.

No, because they believe in fairy tales and the rich ones use it to claim more wealth. Religion would have to die first.
