Well the guy you were talking to was right the 49ers made some great improvement but the Steelers are a solid football teams the recievers are the best blockers and some of the best playmakers in the game. The 49er's have moved leaps and bounds in the offseason and the only way they will win if Pitt turns the ball over 3 to 5 times

There's gonna be some angry people come Sunday. The Steelers are gonna stomp a mudhole in the 49ers and walk it dry. The '9ers defense is average but their offense is mediocre and they're playing the best rush defense in the NFL. Pittsburgh will shut Gore down and Alex Smith will throw a couple INTs, Big Ben will march them up and down the field and Willie Parker will run all over them. It's a known fact that NFC teams are weak. I laughed when I first read your question. To think you actually believe that the 49ers are in the same boat as the Steelers is hilarious. I'm gonna say Pittsburgh will win 38-10, and that's being generous cuz the Steelers defense probably won't allow a TD at all.

Your offense has gore and the 32nd ranking in the NFL. The defense is good but don't expect to going cross country into Pittsburgh and beat the Steelers. Its just not going to happen. The Steelers will stop the run and hold Gore and while I like Smith, he looks lost without Norv Turner as his O-coordinator this year.

We'll see Sunday won't we?
Unlike the rest of the jerkoffs here I think this ends up being a close toss up game. The Steelers haven't played anyone of talent yet and my guess is that they'll severely underestimate the 49ers. The SF defense isn't "average" it is stellar. They shut down 2 probowl receivers in Boldin and Fitzgerald in week one and in week two, in St. Louis, they sacked Bulger 6 times. I wouldn't expect this to be a high scoring game.
On the other side of the ball the offense has struggled, but is slowly getting back to business. With Frank Gore in the backfield they always have a shot.
The Steelers are good, everyone knows that, and the 9ers are definitely the underdogs here, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to the 9ers walk away with the win. It should be fun to watch.

The Steelers will win. Here is why:
Big Ben is 11-1 against the NFC, with the only loss coming when he was knocked out of the Atlanta game last year with a concussion. Also, he has never lost to an NFC team at home.
Gore will be another running back who won't rush for 100 yards against them (27 games in a row it will make it). Only 1 running back in their last 52 games (including playoffs) has run for 100 against that defense.

It's going to be a good game I think. But the Steelers at home are pretty tough to beat and their defense has been stellar so far this year. Steelers by 10.

Steelers. They're a better overall team, and I love the way their offense is opening up this season. Sorry San Fran fans, but your days of winning are not going to be along much longer...

Pittsburgh is at home and they have the 3rd ranked defense in the NFL. There offense is scoring all the points, so it is not them having to rely on special teams and defense. Ben Roethlesberger has a QB rating of 101.5 and Willie Parker is averaging about 130 yards per game. I think it is safe to say that they are going to win.
Steelers 31
49ers 17
