Its my first bike. Its a yamaha 2004 yzf-r6. I don't ride it really hard yet. the engine has about 11K miles on it but i've been told by someone with about 20 years motorcycle experience that everything on the bike seems ok and that it runs really well. I dont really know anything about the previous owner's maintenance history. any info would be good. I would like an answer from someone with 600cc sportbike experience. yeah... thats about it: how many miles/gallon should a bike like this be averaging?

If you ride conservatively 45-50 mpg, ride hard 30-35

30 - 50 MPG depending on how you ride it.

Those are man-sized UK gallons by the way (4.5 litres) rather than the slightly effete 3.8 litre US gallons.
