Is there a band with excellent musicians: guitar players, bassist, drummer etc. but the lead vocalist just spoils it for you?
What is it about the lead vocalist that you just can't stand?Voice/Attitude/Overall crappyness etc.

I think Editors write some great lyrics and tunes but the lead singers voice grates. It isn't that he can't sing it just doesn;t sound like a rock/pop music voice. He should be the new 3rd tenor or something! I feel the same about Franz Ferdinand. The lead singer sounds kind of pompous and pretentious.

I can't believe some people have said The White Stripes!? Jack White is amazing.

I've always felt I'd like Rage Against the Machine more if not for Zach De La Rocha. I do think they were a good band, he just always put me off them a bit.
Just everything about him irritates me, but in particular his painfully annoying attempts at political activism, and "sticking it to the man". Like the MTV awards thing. It's just embarrasing.

I'm going with the Guns 'N' Roses set. Axl Rose sounds like bloody Cartman from Southpark. The tunes rock, Paradise City is a fantastic track, but he's friggin' awful!

after 27 years i doubt they'll change now but Duran Duran's simon le bon has always struck me as a limited vocalist,he just can't do it live.
i've heard loads of their live recordings as the wife is a big fan and le bon sounds very average to me.
he doesn't seem to have any real standout ability, perhaps we've been spoiled by the likes of bruce dickinson and freddie mercury - people who could hit the back row even in a football stadium.

in my humble opinion ripper owens (judas priest) was technically superior to rob halford but i guess that's heresy.

There are a lot of groups that could fit into this category but some that really stand out for me are Guns N' Roses, Rush, Cinderella, AC/DC (with Brian Johnson), Fall Out Boy, & Fleetwood Mac (sorry but I just can't stand Stevie Nicks's voice).

I agree with Sarah C. Axl Rose was definately the worst one in Guns N Roses. How about Coldplay. I mean the band are crap and 90% of their tunes, but Chris Martin is a knob.

Dream Theater...please get rid of James La Brie. He spoils every song they have with his flat operatic screeching! They have some really cool instrumental parts but when he starts to sing I try and block him out...! They need some one with a more leather lunged capacity like John Bush or Devin Townsend.

Well, I always loved everything about GN'R except I always hated Axl, I'm not sure why, but Axl just always got on my nerves.
Same with Van halen and David Lee Roth, I just never liked the guy. I liked Sammy Hagar much better.
