Generally a cast is applied a few days after the injured occurred, by that time the area of the break is done swelling.
You should be safe to fly, but if you are going on a extra long flight (overseas) they will sometimes ask you to have your cast split down the sides to allow for the possibility of swelling.
My friend had a broken leg & crutches and they bumped him up to 1st class no charge :D

No, they don't care about casts and bone injuries and stuff like that. They only worry about things like oxygen, heart problems, anything that could cause a medical emergency while in flight. Flying wouldn't do anything to your foot in your cast that sitting in your recliner at home wouldn't do. If you need to walk up and down the aisle a couple times to help your circulation, you could do that, but I wouldn't worry.

No. I have never heard any reason that flying could/would cause a fracture to swell. Cast or no cast.

It depends on the status of your foot on the day of your flight.....if its really swelling then theres no way for you to fly but if not then you can go...

Should be ok aslong as you are able to bend your leg. my friend had her whole leg in a cast and they wouldnt let her fly. so aslong as you can bend your knee it shud be fine. mite be wise to ring and check before though. have a great holiday.

You should contact the airline and your doctor. If they say anything, have your doctor provide a note to them or something.
