All I want are honest answers . . . . and maybe just a little bit of thought . I'm not asking you to change your position , I'm just asking you to think .

Notice how there's nothing else posted here ? That's cause I really want you to focus on the question and think about it .

I should've addressed this to all people who are pro abortion . But I focused on Liberals because their agenda promotes abortion and the conservative agenda does not . I do recognize , however, that some conservatives support abortion so I'm interested in your comments too .

Univee - Hmmm , funny how you bring my mother into it . But I'll tell ya . I was the first-born and an extremely difficult birth for my mom . My mother was in surgery for hours to save her life because she chose to risk it and give me life .
Any other questions ??

AWWWW - Look at all of the irresponsible people defending their position to the death - well, not even defending it, just insulting whoever doesn't agree.
I understand there may be a small percentage of medically necessary abortions, but I think MOST people use it as an easy fix for their irresponsibility. They should at least be honest about it!

Me, I am an ultra-conservative. I would prefer living the way people did in the late '50s - early '60s. It was safe to leave the doors unlocked; no one stole anything (I lived in small towns!)
I agree with you, at least to a point. But, the thing of it is, the earth is seriously over-populated. Most problems Mankind face today are due to over-population: wars, famines, disease, pollution, global warming, melting icecaps, streams drying up.
The answer is, as they used to say, they need "to keep their pants zipped". Or, at least get married: it is a FACT that married people have sex less often than singles. Probably due to crying babies?

I'm not a Liberal. But I am pragmatic.

You don't get 40 million unborn pregnancies without a problem.

And all I have seen in my life is the problem being addressed by gender-bashing.

Women go to work and heaven forbid they want to be treated equal! (at least HUMAN, for pete's sake)!

Men say if women stayed home, the nation would be in better shape, but then they create words like "gold-digger," "lazy," and other words to discredit the wife they wish to keep in poverty at home so they can be the big powerful "bread-winner."

I wasn't brought up like that. My mom was not much in the kitchen, and my father was great there (what a baker)!! My brothers (3 of them) and my sister and I all did the dishes and raked the leaves.

We were taught COOPERATION!!

ADDED (for Schmorgen): You assume the asker's position is incredulous and then you post an answer for incredulous speculation. It is clear that you do not understand the pro-life position with respect to in vitro fertilization. I do not condemn you, it is a difficult topic, and one in which I took many years to arrive at a pro-life position regarding (although pro-life all of my life, with respect to abortion and euthenasia).

Well, who is to say that my life would have turned out differently. Given your PhD you should know that any combination of seemingly random acts could affect the outcome here. Had one of my parents not been here through abortion or through an accident of just through not being in the same geographical location so as to meet the other, the outcome could have been considerably different. If this is a pitch at an anti-abortion argument then you have to know that it is ambiguous and full of potential holes.

It really depends on which of my parents were aborted.
Think about it..

If my father was aborted, the egg my mother ovulated probably would have been fertilized by someone other than my father.

If my mother was aborted, my dad's little swimmer could have reached the shores of another egg.

Either way, I'd be a completely different person.

Deep enough thought for you?

How can anyone answer such a moronic question? One that you know and we know the answer too. Is abortion political or medical? I think medical. I detest abortion however I believe in the RIGHT of the parents, primarily the mother, to make a decision regarding her body. I don't believe abortion should be used as birth control. I also don't think abortion is a joke and would make fun of it in YA as an honest question.
Grow up.

There once was a woman who married her cousin and they had six children and no abortions. The fourth child was named Adolph Hitler.

Long before that there was a teenage girl who had sex with a married man and got pregnant. She too, did not have an abortion and her child was named Leonardo da Vinci.

It's not about "what might have been," it's about whether or not you have the right to force others to live by your beliefs and morality if they pose no danger to YOUR safety.

I wish you cared as much about the lives of our dead soldiers as you do about cells in a petri dish.

You have an interesting point; you could also wonder the same about any of our world leaders today or crazy Hollywood boozing starlets.

Any child that has been aborted in the past could have changed history. That is one thing all of us will never know.

I suspect the answer would be in the same place you would be if your parents had aborted. My family is from a long line of liberals and pro-life all the way. How about you?

Your question is absurd, to say the least. If either of my parents had been "aborted" then the only logical answer is that I would not be here.....that's like asking which came first, the chicken or the egg!
