I love it. It's elegant, with a good Greek myth behind it. There are a lot of nickname options. My friend in elementary school was named Penelope, and we called her Nellie. I like it a lot!

I love the name Penelope...
There are actresses name Penelope, but what I love most about it is the implication that she is a faithful, kind, smart... like the Penelope in the Odyssey (Greek Legend of Odysseus by homer... ) where she was the faithful hero's wife who waited for his return and fought off many suitors.
In the legend she was a princess, and what is cuter than calling your daughter a princess?
I like this name, and I would use it. you could call her Penny for short.

i think it's a beautiful name. It makes me think of Penelope Cruz. Plus, Penny is a cute nickname

Yes, it's not a common name nor a strangely unusual one either. She'll have a choice of nicknames if she likes. And people won't be asking how do you pronounce or spell it all the time.

Lovely! Sweet and classic, adorable on a little girl, but mature and attractive on a grown woman. And so many nickname options. Penny, Polly, Poppy, Pippy, Pippa, Lola, etc. ... Nell is my personal favorite, though. ;)
