Ok, maybe you're too young to remember this but we DID attack Afghanistan after 9/11. We didn't go into Iraq until later and it was not related to 9/11.

Uh where were you 6 years ago...we attacked the Taliban in Afghanistan right after 9/11! The attack in Iraq didn't come until 2 years later.

Okay, if you don't know, in 2001 the US attacked Afghanistan for refusing to turn over Osama Bin Laden, then 2 years later the US attacked Iraq to support the UN, because Saddam had refused access to UN Inspectors to look for weapons of mass destruction. I know that to be a factual.

Because the purpose of 9/11 was to encourage the American people to agree to a war in Iraq. Wake up, people.

We've done two things at once!
One was a retaliatory measure, the other is a resumption of hostilities resulting from a long list of violations of a cease-fire agreement which took place in 1991.
Unfortunately, Big Media would like for you to remain ignorant of the latter and so far, it's working out pretty well for them.

We did that first, and Bush declared that Suddam had something to do with it also, and began to attack Iraq. Remember the weapons of mass destruction that still have not been found.

After 9/11 President GWB promised to hunt down terrorists where ever they lived, and promised that such searches would include every foreign nation which harbored, fostered, promoted, and financially aided terrorists.
First we went to Afghanistan, and now?
Welcome to Iraq.
Watch for Damascus, Syria in the future.

Opportunity. A window of opportunity opened, and GWB wanted to move on it quickly while the American emotions were at an angry high. Additional 'excuses' of the murdering going on, weapons of mass destruction and such helped to make a convincing arguement to go against Iraq.
History is full of such things. GWB is no different.
