Well it would be cool because that time of month is really difficult for some people. Some people are in way more pain than others. Some people acually throw up(had a friend that bad) and get intense headaches, and stay up all night because of the intense pain. for the rest of the people its not as bad, but sometimes even without all these symptoms, for some people its still bad. Most people cramp although we get used to it as women. It would still be nice, but we are women and God made it so that we could endure the pain. Like one of the responses said, If it were a man, he'd probaly take the whole week off.

It would be nice, but no. I call in very rarely with that excuse.....and usually it isn't the actual period that is bothering me, but the migraine that comes with it. And 90% of the time, I just take my meds and lay in the bed hiding under the covers till it goes away, then head into work, having only missed about an hour or two of the day.

I don't think so, but that won't stop some nut from getting the ACLU to file another ridiculous suit.
most companies give you paid vacation. the longer you've worked for the company, the more you earn. you can feel free to use it however you like, whether 1 day a month or otherwise.
some companies offer flexible schedules: maybe that week you take Wednesday off and work Saturday, for example.
now what if some women won't want this special extra day off each month -- are you going to complain if employers preferentially hire these women instead of someone wanting such special treatment?

this is touchy. would i like to have it? of course. sometimes it's all i can do just to get out of bed when i'm on my cycle. but, realistically, it isn't fair. only if there was some sort of equal alternative for a man. i know it isn't as much as for women, but men even have paternity leave now (which is great!), but i don't think there is an equivalent to a period day for a man. soooo....if they offered, i would take it, but i wouldn't campaign for one. doesn't really seem fair.

I think women should be given 1-2days menstrual leave per month.

I'm sure every woman reading this would vote "yes" whether they work or not! Unfortunately, it would never happen in this lifetime.
