Mitchell, Mitchell, Mitchel. I can always count on you can't I?
The "corporate media" is staffed by people, hundreds of thousands of people. Of those hundreds of thousands of people, close to 80 or more percent of them hold an ADMITTEDLY leftward bias. This is reflected in their work time and time again.
OWNERSHIP of these outlets is mostly irrelevant

Guelph, liberals do not recognize bias in media because they simply CAN'T recognize it. Conservative talk radio has flourished because it HAD to. All other avenues were taken by liberals and so it itstablished itself in a sort-of "underground" manner.
Please take a look at these articles as well:

tangerine, aren't you embarrassed by such logic? You cherry pick tiny exceptions and apply it to the whole. The vast majority of people in the institutions that I list are overwhelmingly liberal.

I find it amazing that no matter much they stack the deck against dissenting views, they still have to struggle to break through the 50% barrier when it comes to elections. And that's after 30 years of entrenched, exclusive, and institutionalized liberalism in the list you offer. Speaks wonders for the bottom-line, common sense and personal values of normal Americans.

How exactly have you been hassled/oppressed? Have you been denied a job because you were a conservative? Beaten by the police? Not allowed to marry the person of your choice? Forced into a detention camp? Forced to go to a seperate, inferior school? Show me the wound this oppression has left.
Further, until you can demonstrate actual liberal bias in those areas, rather than regurgitating heavily promoted myths designed to make the political faction of the rich and powerful seem like an oppressed underclass and therefore more sympathetic to the average voter, you're just talking nonsense.
The embarrassing part is how many people believe it.
For example, how many liberal talk radio hosts are there compared to conservatives?
How many liberal op/ed columnists are there compared to conservative ones?
The same question applies to prime time cable news hosts.
Most government employees are apolitical. They range across a broad spectrum of viewpoints.
Public Broadcasting, by most independent measures, is more accurate, and regular viewers/listeners of public broadcasting news sources are more likely to be better informed on objective facts. For example, a far greater percentage of mainstream news viewers believed Saddam Hussein was directly involved in the 9/11 attacks - a myth that even the White House has officially refuted - than public broadcasting viewers did. Mainstream news viewers were similarly more likely to believe that WMDs had been found in Iraq. Not surprisingly, Fox News viewers were most likely of all to believe these myths.
You embarrass yourself and the people who fought and died to make this country free throughout its history when you so casually refer to differences of opinion as oppression. Grow up.

Ha. Pretty funny.
Are there any liberal major newspapers, news outlets, networks? Certainly not in the US.
Everything out of Hollywood? Like Clint Eastwood? Arnold Schwartsenegger, Ronald Reagan, Mel Gibson, Charlton Heston ?
Programs that teach tolerance and respect for others are liberal? Since when has the right wing openly admitted that anything that isn't racist must therefore be liberal. Actually, you are probably right on this one.
Government employees? Like George Bush, Scooter Libby?
Ha. I needed the laugh.

i think diversity training has pretty much gone the way of smoking inside offices, or at least the stats tell me so
most major newspapers and media are owned by people who are conservative
however, as this is a free country, not Zimbabwe or North Korea, I THINK it may be okay for them to print things not conservative, just a thought
Hollywood is often thought of as liberal but that is only some factions of it
most of it (executive/control level) is conservative
public broadcasting mostly airs programs about history, nature, mysteries, and science documentaries...not much on that is political, but ifyou tire of its balanced news then you can definitely find conservative talk radio and television to support you
campus speech codes are reinforcing kind, polite speech
speech does not have to be hurtful..in fact, if you truly espouse traditional Western values you understand the place that civility and courtesy, even in words, have in our society
your parents and the parents of all your ilk should have taught you that something is wrong with YOU and anyone else who feels the need to have to insult somebody and that it is simply polite to call people and groups by the names they wish to be called
it is also civil to ask them beforehand if you are not sure
far more oppressive is the security network that seems to be growing....cameras, pat downs, etc.
i have many friends from Communist countries
i had no idea how bad things were until I met all these people
well, none of the people-friendly things you suggest were done to them but many of the ideas that your fellow Conservatives put forth were
and by the way, as I said, this is a free country
everyone does not have to be conservative

I believe It's more about an individuals socioeconomic group than it is about their political alignment, lower and middle class people are always "hassled by the man" far more than wealthy and upper class people, regardless of political persuasion. O.J. may prove to be an exception to this, however.

1. Most newspaper editors are conservatives.
2. Most major news outlets are run by corporations, which tend to favor the Republicans.
3. See #2. The same rule applies to the networks, as well.
4. You mean Hollywood liberals like Ronald Reagan, Charlton Heston, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Clint Eastwood, and Sonny Bono?
5. Go to Bob Jones University and you won't find anything liberal there. I promise!
6. Are you talking about PBS programs like "The McLaughlin Group" and "The Firing Line"?
7. Are you talking about Bush and his cabinet members?
8. What?! You're not allowed to use the N word on campus?! What an outrage!
9. What?! You mean white males aren't the only ones who deserve respect?! What an outrage!
