Going back to when I started driving Artics, ERF E14 with Cummins 385 AND EATON Twin Splitter - perfect combination - went like a b*****d on heat on the open road ,but in town it was queen b1tch. Now, DAF 105 XF 480 with 12 speed ZF automatic - more comfortable than my pug 406!!!. Unfortunately that is only a dream, my usual drive is a Volvo FM 7 / 9 / 12, but, with the run up to Xmas we have had an influx of different units, the DAF is one! I agree about the MAN with 16 speed ZF Comfort Shift - but STILL not as slick as the old Twin Split. Dont get me started on the Worst one in the UK - Mecedes Axor !!**!!**!!**!! worst gearbox, cab , ride - It needs a huge AXOR taking to every one of them.
