Sometimes an author will write a certain type of book, say a romance novel or a science fiction book. Then say, years later, they write a very serious literary masterpiece. They would choose a pen name for the new book because they don't want it to be linked to their other work. Maybe because they feel they are a better writer now, so they don't want to be judged on previous books, and want to start fresh in the industry.

I can think of only one writer whose real name and pen name I know ... Mark Twain's real name was Samuel Clemens.
I know that 'Nora Roberts' also writes under the name J.D. Robb, but don't know which, if either, of those is her 'real name.'
WHY do you need this information? If you are doing this for a school assignment, you should know that many people who give you answers could be 'lying' to get you a 'bad grade' ... it would be better if you did a search on the Internet ... use the words "writer, author, pen name, real name" on the 'search line' and you should get many good 'leads' to find a 'real' answer to your questions.
