My boyfriend is auditioning for A Christmas Carol and needs a song to sing for the auditions. He is a tenor and he needs a song that is short. He can't memorize lyrics super fast so, it needs to be something easy. I was thinking of him either as Bob Cratchit or Young Scrooge (He looks older than he is but, he still gets put to play young guys all the time). Any help would be appreciated!

I think LTD has the right idea. A Christmas carol would be perfect. What would be great would be for him to sing would be O Holy Night. The part that goes "Fall on your knees, Oh hear the angels voices. Oh night devine. Oh night when Christ was born. Oh night devine, oh night, oh night devine" would be good :-)

just my opinion

Sing something from Titanic: The musical. Maybe "There She Is" or "No Moon". Actually, "No Moon" would be perfect. It's a tenor range, easy, and has very simple lyrics. It's also really beatiful.

He could just sing a couple of verses of "Joy to the World." The lyrics aren't that hard, and for a tenor, it's a good song for showcasing the top of your vocal range.

"God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" (EXCELLENT for a tenor! and very appropriate for the time period of A Christmas Carol)
"Angels We Have Heard on High"
"We Three Kings"
"Have Yourself, A Merry Little Christmas"
