Try these guys: The Fiber Artists' Guild of Charlotte
2235 Springdale Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28203

If not, your local SCA group is bound to have someone who can teach you, or point you towards someone who can. I think your local group is http://charlesbury.atlantia.sca.org/ the contact person is the Chatelaine, look on this page for her contact details: http://charlesbury.atlantia.sca.org/officers/index.htm

Good luck with it!

www.interweave.com, go to the Spin-Off page and you will find a sources link that has a listing of spinning guilds by state. If you contact a guild near you I'm sure you'll find a spinner willing to teach you. I know that that there are guilds in NC.

Surely hundreds of people know how. Fewer know how to teach.

When seeking a teacher you will need to specify the sort of wheel you have. Spinning to a "quill" is different from spinning with a "flyer". Some flyer spinners are unskilled with quill spinning (aka spinning to a spike).

Do a search for a local Spinner's Guild.
