By the time you receive this response there will probably be nothing left to do but move toward the light, but for future reference, here are your instructions.

If the gunman is in the area, remain still. When you are not in his/her field of vision, attempt to apply direct pressure to the wound to slow the loss of blood.

If this is at home or work,or at a store or bank, as soon as feasible call your local 9-1-1 service and report that you have been shot. Tell them that the gunman/person may still be in the area. Give them your address if you can, and tell them where you can be found in as specific terms as you can, such as "I am on the third floor, room 321, third cubicle from the left." Remain as still as possible and wait for them toi arrive, keeping pressure on the wound. If it is on an arm or leg and the bleeding is heavy, you may need to use your belt or tie or scarf to fashion a pressure bandage.

If you are in a combat zone, access your pressure dressing from your gear and tie the white pad over the wound, making sure to place the knot slightly to the side of the wound. Alert any squad member in the area that you are hit, and STAY LOW! Call for suppressive fire if you have comms available and call for a medical team to evacuate you immediately.

Bleeding is the usual response to being shot. Stick your finger in the hole.

I would say that you should call 9-1-1, and step away from the computer.
