I am not on the bc pill for pregnancy. My husband is fixed . We are planning our anniversary trip to the mountains and it will be during my period (Oct 8-11) I started a pack of Ortho cyclen the Sunday after my last period with the intention of skipping the placebos and going straight to the next pack-thus skipping a period. But like when I was on them regularly, I am already getting bloated (gained 20 lbs on ortho cyclen last time I regularly used them)

Is it possible, instead, to simply stop taking the pack a week before the placebo and induce an early period? I already understand it could be a rough period, but as long as I can be o.k during our trip, I can handle that. We have been married nine years. We have 3 kids(blended family) and rarely get any time together. I really want this to be a romantic trip, as we have little time together. Can I stop the pack early and start my period early, or must i just continue to the next pack and skip a period for a month?

Note*** I ONLY STARTED THIS PACK OF PILLS TO DELAY MY PERIOD NEXT MONTH.

I already know this works and have done it before.
But because I hate the bloating and other side effects, I am wondering if anyone has successfully forced their period early instead by simply abrubtly stopping the pack early? Please let me know if anyone has done this successfully. I hate the bloating the pill gives me . Makes me look really fat. It always has.
To be clear, instead of delaying my period on the pill, I was wondering if I could start early and get it over with. Not having to take any more pills.

You could really do either one. I recommend just skipping it all together and starting right away on the new pack.

I know if I miss a few pills I will start bleeding within a few days.

Maybe you should look into getting on Ortho Tri CYclen Lo, it has a lower dose of hormones but serves same purpose. Thats what I am on and haven't gained weight from it, but I did gain weight on just regular Ortho Tri Cyclen.

Yes you can. My gynecologist told me I could actually go 3 - 4 months without having a period (the job I had at the time made it extremely difficult to get to the bathroom quickly).

Instead of taking the placebos open your next package and continue taking the active ones. You can also just put it off for a week if you need to. The pill is a wonderful thing when you have special events planned when you should be having your period.

I would ask your doctor or gyno they would probably be more of an expert than anyone on here who doesn't work in that field. I think you could just stop taking a week early and then start your new pack to make it stop after a week but I don't want to give you advise that might not be good on your body.

Why are you on pills then? Regulation?

SO you are saying you want to skip the third week active pills? If you stop it during an active week you could have your period anyway. And it could end up happening on your holiday anyway.

I would just have a talk with your doctor about your situation and see what they can do for you.

I would just take tampons and enjoy the holiday, you CAN be intimate on your period.

Or try to delay your vacation another week.

I dont think that's possible. If you stop taking birth control, it messes up your hormones and generally takes awhile for your period to come back. The best solution would be to start a new pack right away, insteading of taking the last few "sugar pills", so it will skip your period. Lastly, you can call your gyno and they can suggest things.

I think it would work, since if I forget to take a pill, especially near the end of the cycle, I will end up getting my period early.

Sounds like this plan should work in terms of stopping or skipping your period but if not your husband and you could always have anal sex and it would be just as enjoyable for him and you would be able to play with yourself at the same time perhaps. One way or the other your regular period cycle should skip somewhere along the line.

have you ever ignored taking any pills at the instant? this occurs to me for all time. I consistently get a gentle era once I ignore to take a pill. in case you probably did no longer, then merely call your surgeon, even though it particularly is probable no longer something severe.
