can i make skype play through my headphones but make my computer play through the speakers?

what i mean to do is use my usb headset for skype and when i watch streaming movies on the internet have them play through the pc speakers

Yes. You just have to go into Skype settings and select the input(microphone)/output(speaker/headphone) for audio, and rest of computer sound can just play regularly. However, this is provided that your computer has additional audio input/output, usally in front and back. If you plug your head phone into the back, or directly into the speakers, you are out of luck. You will be better off getting a new computer if that's important enough to you.

no mate, you can do that, you can use and external mic, but it will be crap on skype
