I especially dislike getting a thumbs down when I answer a question with an academically sound, intelligent, verifiable answer. But then the person asking the question and persons reading the question need to have the intellectual capacity to distinguish between a valid answer and misinformation or opinion. It seems that very many people who spend time on the Answer site do not.

Oh well some people are idiots so it really doesn't matter all that much. This is a q&a forum but some people are petty and just decide to be jerks about it.
