If you have to convince someone to stay are they staying for the right reasons.Instead wish them well and tell them the door is always open.

You can't force anyone to stay.
All you can do is show them what they'll be missing and convince them that going is a bad idea. Present the pros and cons of leaving and ensure the cons of leaving are valid, true reasons.

it depends....but if you really don't want them to leave you, do your best to tell them how you feel (if you have feelings for them), if it's a loved one (family member, etc.) do the same only in a differant matter of speaking. Just let them know that you care and love them, and then hope that they make the best decision...but you can't keep someone from making their own decision...all you can really do is stand by and catch them if they happen to fall...

well depends on the circumstances ,but you cannot make some1 stay with you if they dont want to be ,talk together and try to work things out if that doesnt work well you are not going to make this person to stay ,settle for what you both had and move on .

That's tough to do. I would recommend being direct though, and try to stick to the facts. (How you feel about it, what you think will happen, other concerns.)
Good luck.

I would just plead with them to stay, let them know they are loved and wanted, and just hope for the best.
